2020 Asian Evaluation Week – September 2020
The CoronaCheck app was presented at the Asian Evaluation Week 2020, which was held virtually between September 7-11, 2020. The presentation covered how CoronaCheck is being used to fight the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic by ensuring proper utilization of services and reducing overall burden on healthcare systems.
The Asian Evaluation Week (AEW) is a leading evaluation knowledge sharing platform in the Asia and Pacific region, jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Finance, PRC through the Asia-Pacific Finance and Development Institute (AFDI) and the Asian Development Bank’s Independent Evaluation Department (IED). The theme of the 2020 AEW was “Evaluating for a Better Future”.
Grand Challenges Annual Meeting 2020 - Innovator Session
AKDN dHRC participated in the Grand Challenges Innovator Session to virtually present Hayat to scientists, researchers, funding agencies and policymakers to discuss the lessons learned and impacts of the use of integrated innovations in health care.
The session was conducted on October 19, 2020 as part of the Grand Challenges Annual Meeting 2020.
Grand Challenges Annual Meeting 2020 - Poster Presentation
During the Grand Challenges Annual Meeting held on October 19-21, 2020, AKDN dHRC presented the Hayat application through a poster presentation to showcase Hayat’s methodology, progress during 2019-2020, qualitative and quantitative findings and impact through a virtual presentation.
The Grand Challenges Annual Meeting brings together scientists, researchers, funding agencies and policymakers from across the world to accelerate innovation and create novel solutions to address challenges in global health and development.
Future of Healthcare: Opportunities for Modern Technology and Innovation Success Stories
Saleem Sayani, Director, AKDN dHRC was invited as a panelist for a live session to discuss the opportunities to employ technologies and innovations in healthcare to resolve global health care challenges.
The session, held virtually on October 15, 2020, was an initiative of the Aga Khan University and Accelerate Prosperity and was sponsored by the European Union.
10th Annual International FMIC Scientific Conference and Quality Convention - 2020
AKDN dHRC presented the CoronaCheck application virtually at the 10th FMIC Annual International Scientific Conference and Quality Convention 2020 held in Kabul, Afghanistan on December 17, 2020. The conference was a unique event bringing together medical practitioners, researchers and intellectuals from Afghanistan and other parts of the world. The conference theme was “Universal Health: Accessibility, Quality and Research in the Era of COVID-19 Pandemic”. In the conference, 32 oral presentations and 38 poster presentations were made by healthcare professionals and researchers on-site and virtually.
AKDN dHRC showcased the progress of CoronaCheck, which was implemented in six countries, including Pakistan, Tanzania, Tajikistan, Kenya and Mozambique during 2020 to help curb the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. Learn more about the CoronaCheck app here.
