The application is divided into two modules – one module for use by parents and teachers and the other module for use by health care workers and physicians.
The app focuses on improving the health and development of children in various age groups, such as infants, pre-school, junior school, early adolescence, middle adolescence, senior adolescence, etc. The app provides questionnaires and videos for each category, which can be accessed through the parent module.
The parents can connect with the nurses/frontline health workers through the online messaging feature in the application.
The nurse logs into his/her interface of the Salamat application to respond to queries and provides consultation. Additionally, the parent application also features an announcement section, where important notifications regarding child health and development are available.
The app’s web-based admin panel allows new records and details to be added and displays information about clinicians, registered parents, and their children.
dHRC developed the application in collaboration with the Aga Khan Foundation, Kyrgyz Republic (AKF, KR) in 2022. User testing was completed and the app is ready for implementation in select areas of Kyrgyz Republic in the second quarter of 2023.
The Salamat application was developed under the Foundations for Health and Empowerment (F4HE) Project, for which adolescent health is a key priority.
